The Main Staircase
The architectural layout of the grand staircase, as well as the atrium, is attributed to the architect Canonica and follows a stylistic pattern common to all entrances to ministerial buildings of the time.
At the base of the staircase are valuable vases by the Neapolitan Giovanni Mollica manufactory and the lounge? that belonged to Camillo Benso Count of Cavour, among the first ministers of agriculture of the Savoy state. Looking up you can admire the splendid Art Nouveau stained-glass window by Duilio Cambellotti and Cesare Picchiarini, two artists particularly active in Rome in those years.
The Minister of Agriculture, his staff, his guests and foreign delegations enter the palace from this elegant staircase.
