The exhibition area celebrates Strampelli's scientific and cultural legacy through a presentation of his genetic collection of grains, including the seeds and ears of his many crosses made since 1904.

The museum area is located along two separate corridors.The first displays 600 glass ampoules containing the seeds produced and selected by Nazareno Strampelli and those of varieties from various parts of the world and used to make his crosses. The second corridor, on the other hand, displays 150 vitrines that hold the ears of the grains crossed and selected by Strampelli. The vitrines are arranged in chronological order, starting in 1904 and ending in 1932. Housed in each display case are the ears of the parental varieties used to perform the crossing and those representative of the offspring. Prominent in this corridor is the display case of Mentana, one of the most representative varieties of Strampelli's work, widely cultivated in Italy and spread throughout the world as the progenitor of other varieties; the result of the “masterpiece” cross performed in 1918 between the varieties Rieti, Wilhelmina Tarwe and the Japanese variety Akakomughi .

The exhibition represents 20 percent of Strampelli's entire genetic “archive,” which includes a total of about 4,000 ampoules and 865 vitrines.

In the exhibition space that reconstructs the “Nazareno Strampelli” study, in addition to the original furniture, furnishings and texts, tools, equipment and scientific instruments of the time used by the former Experimental Station for Graniculture in Rieti have been carefully arranged.
