La Sala Paola Clemente

On the third floor of the Palazzo dell'Agricoltura, corresponding to the Salone dell'Agricoltura, is the Sala Paola Clemente.

Formerly known as the Yellow Room and, originally, the Hall of the Commissions of Industry and Commerce, the Sala Clemente was named after the agricultural worker Paula Clemente who died in the countryside of Andria in July 2015. It houses on its walls the images (old daguerreotypes and modern photographs) of all the ministers of agriculture who have led the dicastery from 1860 to the present.

The decoration of this space, was entrusted to the artist Giovanni Mataloni, who was born in Rome in 1868 to a family of noble origins and began his career at Officine Grafiche Ricordi, first as a printer then as a poster artist. An exponent of liberty, he is considered one of the fathers of modern Italian poster art. He collaborated as an illustrator with numerous Italian newspapers and periodicals and was professor at the Accademia dell e Belle Arti in Rome (Umberto Boccioni was one of his students).
